Timeless Beauty
“Depending on the occasion, I love to experiment with my personal style by interlacing Malaysian traditional aspects of clothing together with a modern twist. I am attracted to beautiful batik designs, as well as the wide range of baju kurungs that are now available in Malaysia. My look evolves from day, where I opt for a more comfortable look with long skirts and pants, to night, where I take out one of the intricately designed jubbahs from my extensive collection of Middle Eastern-themed clothes.”
Accessories and Accent
“Accessories complete the whole look. I adore big leather bags from Louis Vuitton, Chanel and PRADA because they match the suits that I often wear. Although I am not a big fan of small, clutch handbags, I do occasionally use them for big events such as the functions held by the Pahang Royal Family. But when it comes to watches, I keep an eye out on two things – brand and design, although I must admit that I have a soft spot for Chopard watches because of its unique designs.”
Glittering Gold
“Like any girl, diamonds too are my best friend although my preference tends to lean towards jewellery from the Middle East. With collections from cities like Dubai, Jeddah and specific shops in Kuala Lumpur, what makes these jewellery special is that they exude a Bollywood kind of feel which goes well with traditional clothes and batik. I tend to mix and match my love for diamonds and gold in a single outfit because I find that they are always able to complement each other well, finishing the overall look marvellously.”
Let it be Natural
“When it comes to make-up, Chanel and Dior’s make-up line really works for me. I do not fancy heavy make-up because I believe that the natural beauty of a woman should shine. As such, I try to lightly accent my features with earthy tones for my eyes, framed with black mascara on my eyelashes as it also matches my skin tone well. For a little bit of colour and glow, I never forget to apply a light pink blush on the cheeks and a neutral coloured gloss on the lips. I find that these few steps are sufficient, even for an evening out.”
Everylasting Aroma
“I never leave the house without a few sprits of my Amouage perfume. Originating from Oman, this perfume is special because its fragrance lasts throughout the whole day. While the fragrance has Middle Eastern roots, the fine mixture of aromas includes present the same quality found in Italian perfumes. Strong yet subtle at the same time, I believe this perfume really captures my personality.”
