The banking industry is a critical component in maintaining nation’s economic growth. Strengthening the banking industry to close the gaps with international norms is strategically vital as the sector is still vulnerable to external disturbances.
With that in mind, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) and the Swiss Embassy inked a bilateral agreement to strengthen the capacity of Vietnamese bank executives through the new Swiss Bank Executive Training programme (Swiss BET).
The five-year programme, which will run from 2022 to 2027, will offer funding in the form of a five-million Swiss franc award (about 5.4 million USD).
With more than 240 Vietnamese bank executives and hundreds of central bankers involved in the programme, the Swiss Finance Institute (SFI) will provide expert training on the latest banking management methods.
Additionally, the Swiss BET programme will provide participants with the tools needed in the Vietnamese banking and financial industries in order to strengthen management processes in the organisations.
The Swiss BET programme will be closely monitored by a collaboration between the SBV and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
