Their impressive client list ranges from government agencies to general aviation, including VVIP owners and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), offshore helicopter operators, and airlines from local and neighbouring countries. The company’s management team has over 100 years of combined experience, making them a trusted name in the aviation industry. Galaxy Aerospace is not only qualified for the promotion, demonstration, procurement,

installation, and interfacing of Garmin Avionics, but they are also authorised to provide technical consultation and warranty/non-warranty repair administration for the complete range of products.

The company is committed to delivering high-quality services that exceed client expectations with the ultimate goal of being the leading regional aviation company, providing total support for air operations, aviation training, and aircraft leasing.

Galaxy Aerospace is driven by its mission to provide the highest level of professional services, responsive and quality workmanship that will lead to long-term, meaningful relationships with clients. Their vision of providing exceptional services that go beyond just maintenance and repair work, is what sets them apart.

Galaxy Aerospace was recently awarded the RM2.8 million contract for the routine maintenance tenders of three AW139 Maritime Operations Helicopter (MOH) of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN). One of the helicopters have already departed from its naval base in Kota Kinabalu to the naval air wing headquarters at the Lumut naval base where the RMN
AW139 helicopter will then depart to Langkawi to take part in LIMA 2023.

Trusted National Partner

Galaxy Aerospace is a trusted partner when it comes to providing aviation and aeronautical solutions to the agencies in charge of national security. When it comes to acquiring, maintenance, repair, overhaul, and management of aircrafts, Galaxy Aerospace has answered the call of duty from the Royal Malaysia Police Air Operations Force, Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, and the Royal Malaysian Navy.

Some of the aircrafts that have been entrusted into the company’s care are the Airbus Helicopters’ EC120 Colibri and H125M Fennec, Westland Helicopter’s Super Lynx MK100, and Beechcraft King Air 350. Most notably, Galaxy Aerospace has come to be known to specialise in one particular aircraft, the Leonardo AW139 helicopter.

The AgustaWestland AW139, or better known as the Leonardo AW139 helicopter, is the helicopter choice of many government agencies and bodies worldwide. The helicopter is used for a varied missions such as law enforcement, rescue, air medical, firefighting, and border protection.

The Leonardo AW139 helicopter has been commercially produced since 2003. Operated by two pilots, it has a carrying capacity of 15 passengers. The aircraft is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 310 kilometres per hour with a flight distance of 1,061 kilometres. Due to the nature of the Leonardo AW139 model, it is not only widely used by military forces but for non-military organisations as well.

As such, the company accomplished a monumental achievement when Galaxy Aerospace became a certified Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) and Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO) under the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF)’s Directorate General Technical Airworthiness (DGTA).

The DGTA is a state agency responsible for regulating the technical airworthiness state registered aircrafts including associated aeronautical products. Galaxy Aerospace is one of the few aerospace companies certified to maintain government helicopters under the DGTA.

Some of the government aircrafts it has serviced are the Leonardo AW139, Super Lynx MK100, and Fennec AS55SN for the Royal Malaysian Navy; the Leonardo A109, Leonardo

AW139, and Leonardo AW189 for the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department; and the Leonardo AW139 and AS365 N3 Dauphin for the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA).

The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) has also commissioned Galaxy Aerospace for the acquisition and maintenance of its Airbus Helicopters EC120 Colibri, more commonly known as the Hummingbird. The Hummingbirds will meet the needs of the RMA to conduct training at the Air Force College Alor Setar.

Apart from the maintenance works, Galaxy Aerospace also provide procurement services to its clients. The Royal Malaysian Navy signed a procurement tender contract with Galaxy Aerospace to deliver three AW139 Maritime Operations Helicopters (MOHs) with two sets of mission equipment over a period of five years.

The introduction of the AW139 MOHs will further strengthen the assets of the RMN Eastern Fleet, especially in assisting operations in the Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM). The AW139 MOHs were designed with similar two-tone grey paint and markings to the RMN’s existing Super Lynx and Fennec rotor crafts and are equipped with electro-optics, radar, and a rescue hoist. The Royal Malaysian Navy welcomed three  of the MOHs into its force at the RMN base in Teluk Sepanggar, Kota Kinabalu when Galaxy

Aerospace was able to meet the delivery targets in less than two years.

During the delivery ceremony of the final AW139 MOH, which was noticeably fitted with a machine gun similarly to the ones on RMN’s Super Lynx helicopters, Admiral Tan Sri Mohd Reza Mohd Sany – Chief of the Royal Malaysian Navy – praised the efforts of Galaxy Aerospace for their timely delivery services.

In addition, to being a trusted partner for the Malaysian government, Galaxy Aerospace also partners with Honeywell International – the American multinational conglomerate corporation that deals in aerospace, building technologies, performance materials and technologies, and safety and productivity solutions.

The partnership with Honeywell will improve turnaround time and reduce downtime when it comes to Galaxy Aerospace’s capabilities in handling AW139 helicopters. This will also allow Galaxy Aerospace to identify opportunities in further supporting government fleets by providing retrofitting, modification, upgrade services including provisioning the spare parts.

Galaxy Aerospace is currently providing these services to the Malaysian government agencies for its fleet of AW139s.

The team behind Galaxy Aerospace’s world-class services comprises of qualified technicians and License Aircraft Engineers (LAEs) that work tirelessly to provide the very best to its clients.
Due to the nature of requiring rapid responses when it comes to the maintenance, repair, and overhaul services of aircraft, Galaxy Aerospace ensures that its presence can be felt throughout Malaysia. With locations strategically placed in five states – Penang Island, Perak, Selangor Sarawak, Sabah – Galaxy Aerospace can provide better coverage and accessibility to its wide range of clients.

With its strong presence in Selangor, the Galaxy Aerospace Headquarters is located at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Alam Airport in Subang along with its Management Office in Petaling Jaya. Galaxy Aerospace also operates out of three Air Operations Bases in Kuching, Miri, and Kota Kinabalu including the Kota Kinabalu Air Station. The company has multiple locations spread out the Borneo Island to optimise its operations to the underserved communities that can be found in Sabah and Sarawak.

Leading the Future

Galaxy Aerospace is also one of the industry partner companies that have signed strategic joint ventures with Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (MRRD). The joint venture will implement the concept of Industry Based Education Training (IBET) to ensure graduates of the 280 from both TVET and MMRD institutions are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and competence that will lead to a skilled workforce for the aviation industry.

Not only is the MRO company leading the charge in enriching the aviation workforce, Galaxy Aerospace is also working towards expanding its services to provide aircraft leasing and operations. According to Dato’ Shamsul Kamar Samsudin, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Galaxy Aerospace, the works to further evolve the company into a small aircraft or helicopter assembly facility is also underway.

Galaxy Aerospace is the official MRO company for the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) Air Operation Force’s fleet of Leonardo
AW139s. This special unit of the RMP is responsible for safeguarding national security through aerial surveillance and
patrols, while also providing support to other agencies dedicated to national security
VIP owners are also included in the range of clients that trust the MRO services of Galaxy Aerospace. The company’s capabilities extend to both helicopters and small fixed wing aircrafts.

Whether it’s aircraft maintenance, design, or continuing airworthiness related services,Galaxy Aerospace (M) Sdn Bhd is the go-to MRO company that ensures quality workmanship, client satisfaction, and aviation safety.
