Births and Deaths of Asia’s Giants

Twenty Years of Asia

This article was originally published in IBR Volume 158.

In 2004, 20 years ago, the first edition of International Business Review (then Technology Business Review) was published. Since then, IBR – as the magazine is fondly known – has gained a deserved reputation as the trusted platform through which public and private sector leaders in Malaysia may showcase their successes, innovations and aspirations, as well as reach out to each other.

The success of IBR has given us the confidence to expand our horizons. Now we can tell our story in 195 countries, 147 industries, to over a 45 million reach, curated specifically for our clients.

As we commemorate our 20th anniversary, we look back at the major happenings that have taken place in Asian business since we made our debut. And we start, in this issue, with a retrospective of the giants and icons of industry that have come and gone since our very first year.
