SHAH ALAM, 6 September 2021 – Canon Marketing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (“Canon”) today launches its fastest Canon production Computer Aided Design (CAD) large format printer, the imagePROGRAF TZ-5300, as well as the next generation imagePROGRAF TX-5310 and TX-5410 series lineup. The new TZ range features an industry-leading quick first print performance of just 19 seconds for A1 printouts, unparalleled security to protect important information and versatile media handling capabilities. Following in the footsteps of the TZ models, the latest TX printers bring enhanced offerings from their predecessors, including higher speeds and media detection technologies.
“Today marks a remarkable milestone with the launch of Canon’s fastest CAD Large Format Printer – imagePROGRAF TZ-5300 and the next generation of imagePROGRAF TX Series. These printers are designed to benefit a variety of CAD and Geographical Information Systems markets including architecture, engineering, construction and manufacturing,” said Masato Yoshiie, Senior Director of Business Imaging Solutions Centre of Canon Marketing Malaysia. “Businesses are pushed to meet short deadlines. In developing the TZ series, we have accounted for their common pain points. By introducing high-speed output, extensive security features and flexible media handling, we hope it will help our customers to increase their productivity and meet even the tightest deadlines.”
All-New Console Design for Higher Speed and Productivity Boost: The imagePROGRAF TZ-5300 and TZ-5300 MFP Z36
To meet the on-demand and increased print frequency needs of the production CAD and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) industries, the TZ-5300 series has adopted twin carriage motors driving print head scanning which increase print speeds up to 4 pages per minute for A1 printouts. Hot-Swap Ink Tanks allow empty tanks to be replaced on the fly without stopping printing jobs even if a specific colour of ink runs out. With its high capacity 700ml ink tanks, this provides a buffer of frequent low-ink or run out situations.
The introduction of the TZ-5300 series also marks Canon’s first, revolutionary console body chassis with Dual Roll that supports hot-swapping of roll paper. This allows rolls to be replaced even while printing is in progress, reducing time spent for paper replenishment and device setup. With this state-of-the-art design, the paper loading process is significantly simplified, users only need to load the paper roll from the front and the printer will assume full responsibility for detecting the media type, length, and width. All of which would have required extensive operator support on any other competing device. Highly visual LED indicators on the printer body also serve to inform remaining roll paper while minimising user interaction with the operation panel and improving supplies management in the process.
Top Delivery Tray can hold up to 100 AO-size plain paper, while longer, heavier media will be delivered to a front basket. As an added security feature, the print output will be placed face-down, adhering to the standard operations procedure in restricted access zones of architectural, engineering, government and manufacturing environments.
Multifunction device configuration is also available in the imagePROGRAF TZ-5300 MFP Z36, featuring a brand new fully integrated design and compact footprint compared to other models in the line-up. Powered by the 64-bit Windows 10 Enterprise operating system, users can easily manage and maintain the printer, as well as scan and print operations from the large 15.6-inch multi-touch colour display.
Pushing Advances in Speed, Productivity, and Media Handling: Canon imagePROGRAF TX Series
The next generation of imagePROGRAF TX series, the imagePROGRAF TX-5310 and TX-5410 clocks in faster start-up and continuous high-speed printing at up to 3.2 pages per minute A1 CAD. These new models are improved with automatic media type and width detection, taking care of media setup once users load paper roll in the printer. Manage supplies better and avoid production interruptions with roll length detection feature to track remaining roll paper and hot-swap of ink tanks features to replace ink while printing.
The advanced TX series supports dual roll paper feeding that loads up to 350 metres of two paper rolls of the same media types and has high-capacity ink tanks of up to 700ml. This frees up operators’ time spent on print preparation during high-volume productions. Users can also switch between two rolls of different media types, as well as have an optional front stacker that can hold up to 100 A0 prints.
To enable scan-and-print operations, the multifunction device configurations are available in the TX-5310 MFP Z36 and TX-5410 MFP Z36, enjoying the same scanner unit as that on the TZ series.
Newly-Developed Software Applications
Together with these groundbreaking large format printers, Canon launches its latest innovation – Direct Print Plus (DP Plus) job submission software to reinforce a seamless processing workflow. The DP Plus software enables shortcut printing, batch printing of multiple file-formats, retrieval of media information from the printer and a faster rendering process and precise communications with the printer to avoid media mismatch and misprints.
The TZ series and TX series are also compatible with the Canon Production Printing (CPP) Driver Select and CPP Publisher Select desktop applications to manage and submit complex sets of documents to one or more printers at a time. By combining these technologies, workflows can become simpler and more efficient, ultimately helping businesses to operate with nominal downtime.
Exceptional Print Quality and Weather Resistance Ink
Both the imagePROGRAF TZ and TX Series employ the LUCIA TD 5-colour full pigment ink to produce fine lines, sharp text, edge-to-edge colours with minimal bleeding even on uncoated papers. The ink is formulated to deliver excellent weather resistance outputs and are compatible with Canon’s water-resistant media.
Secure Document Handling
Keep confidential information protected with password printing, the image PROGRAF TZ and TX series will hold print jobs until the password is entered at the control panels. Upon completion of print jobs, users have an option to erase specific print data or even all data from encrypted hard disk drives. This makes it virtually impossible to recover overwritten data and enhances data confidentiality.
