Despite Covid-19 prevention measures that led to difficulty in transportation, Laos achieved a trade surplus of about $314 million in the first six months of this year from importing and exporting controlled goods through Vietnam.
According to the Lao Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the nation export value reached $216 million in the first half of 2020 in gold ore, copper ore, red copper plates, iron ore and household appliance exports.
Imported products such as wood pulp and paper waste reached $98 million for the same period.
The controlled goods that were transported through Vietnam were mainly for China, India and Hungary, while imported controlled goods were primarily from the US, Canada and South Korea.
