Indonesia’s new budget airline, Super Air Jet (SAJ) has successfully secured its Air Operator Certificate (AOC). The AOC was issued upon the new low cost carrier fulfilling all relevant technical and safety requirements, according to Novie Riyanto, Indonesia’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
Following this, SAJ is expected to launch its first commercial flight soon however a date has yet to be announced.
In a statement to Reuters, SAJ Chief Executive Ari Azhari revealed that SAJ will focus on the domestic market prior to expanding internationally, and primarily target travellers among the millennial demographic. SAJ will reportedly begin flying with 180-seat Airbus SE A320 planes.
