Philippine’s property giant, Megaworld, announced plans to develop a global business district known as the Northwin Global City in Bulacan municipalities, Marilao and Bocaue, Central Luzon. A total of 98 billion pesos (US$1.9 billion) will be invested in the project which will be built over the next 15 to 20 years.
Set to become Bulacan’s first business and lifestyle metropolitan hub, the township will feature its own themed commercial district, high-rise condominiums, malls, office towers, hotels and schools. In addition, 40 percent of the township will be designated for open and green spaces. Sustainable infrastructure such as solar-powered and LED streetlights, fiber optic cabling, flood prevention systems and bike lanes will also be integrated.
Megaworld’s Chief Strategy Officer Kevin Tan said that Northwin Global City will be a favourable location for multinational companies given its strategic location, accessibility and proximity to Metro Manila. This project, he said, will materialise the vision for a truly modern and global business district in Bulacan.
